If you had an opportunity to stop cancer in its tracks, would you?
In 2013, the Canadian Cancer Society is celebrating its 75th anniversary!
To celebrate this momentous occasion, we are hosting a youth forum. We want you to be part of this extraordinary event, which will bring youth together from across British Columbia to change cancer forever. We know that prevention is one of the keys to achieving this goal. In fact, about half of all cancers can be prevented by living well, being aware and getting involved. Stopping cancer before it starts is an important priority for the Society, and youth are a vital part of the solution.
The Forum will allow us to showcase the many ways in which youth have created change within their communities. It will also be a chance for youth to help set the direction for the Society moving forward. It is designed by youth, for youth, to help us set the stage for the next 75 years of preventing cancer.
Join us in our fight for life!
We are inviting you to apply for the youth forum and join us on May 11th, 2013 at the Simon Fraser University, Morris J. Wosk Centre for Dialogue in Vancouver, BC. You and other youth will have the opportunity to:
Share your ideas on health and cancer prevention; what changes you would like to see and how we can help you achieve these changes.
Learn new leadership skills that will support you to take action in your own communities on relevant health and cancer prevention issues.
